on being a beginner
Beginner (and not just at golf)
Nobody, not special, not distinguished.
Need to skip over this phase of discomfort- so awkward.
To not appear practiced
To not have accomplished
Clumsy, fumbling, disoriented
Not knowing how to progress
Seeking guidance in the dark
Fighting against emulation- do it this way but make it your own.
Is there a unique beginner?
Wanting to be comfortable and knowing as an expert there’s always more to learn.
This makes us all beginners
In every moment
At every task
It’s where the juice is, in the undiscovered
Proof is dry
The letters after our names don’t make us trustworthy
It’s the willingness to begin again
